Guests can enter via the main gate before making their way down to the lakeside boathouse where the celebration will take place.

What to expect
The celebration will begin with drinks and small bites by the lake, followed by a raclette dinner and a light dessert.
We will take a few moments to recite our personal vows to each other, to properly mark the occasion.

We'll set aside a little time for anyone who feels inspired to share a few words, completely optional, of course!

Swiss National Day 🇨🇭
Our celebration falls on Swiss National Day. If you hear fireworks throughout the evening, don't be alarmed, they're part of the festivities and very much expected.

Your presence is the only gift we ask for, but if your generosity compels you, we'd be very grateful for a contribution towards a long-dreamed-of trip we're hoping to take in 2027 to Japan and Korea. (It's not a honeymoon!) Trip Donations
Saint-Prex itself is small and residential, so most guests will stay nearby and travel in. When booking, the most important thing is easy access to train stations, unless you plan on hiring a car.

Useful Swiss Tips
Sunday trading
Many shops, supermarkets and businesses are closed on Sundays. If you're planning excursions or shopping, we recommend checking opening hours in advance.
Cards & currency
Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere.
Switzerland uses Swiss Francs (CHF).
Some businesses may accept Euro banknotes, but Euro coins are generally not accepted, and any change will usually be given in Swiss Francs.
Swiss National Day
August 1st is Switzerland's national day.
Expect fireworks, celebrations and a generally festive atmosphere throughout the country. This may also affect public transport times and trading, we recommend checking these things ahead of time.

Our favourite fondue restaurant, booking ahead is highly recommended as it is extremely popular.

Famous for traditional malakoffs and a wonderful stop if you're exploring La Côte.
La Croix Verte (Nyon)
Open since 1842, this restaurant serves dishes from Switzerland, France & Italy.

Tickets can be purchased via the SBB mobile app or website, as well as in person at the location of departure.
Yvoire 🇫🇷
A beautiful medieval lakeside village accessible by ferry from Nyon.
Travel from Nyon to Yvoire takes about 20 minutes by ferry.
Évian-les-Bains 🇫🇷
Elegant lakeside town famous for its thermal spa heritage.
Travel from Lausanne to Évian takes about 35 minutes by ferry.
Thonon-les-Bains 🇫🇷
Lovely lakeside promenade and easy ferry access from the Swiss side.

Plage de Préverenges
Approximately 10 minutes by car from Saint-Prex.
One of the nicest stretches of shoreline between Morges and Lausanne.
Bellerive Plage (Lausanne)
Approximately 20 minutes by car from Saint-Prex.
Large lakeside swimming complex with changing rooms, pools and direct lake access.

By Train
St-Prex train station is about a 15 minute walk from the venue.
The SBB website is a useful tool for planning your train journey.
Trains run regularly throughout the day and will continue to run into the small hours of the morning.
Note that Swiss punctuality is a real thing! Trains leave on time and guests travelling later into the night should check the SBB app or website for the most up-to-date information.
By Car
Parking is available on site, just inside the main gate. We'll be on hand to help direct guests as you arrive.
Uber & Taxis
Uber operates throughout the Lake Geneva region.
Note that because our celebration falls on Swiss National Day, demand may be higher than usual.
